International Conference on Biorefinery to take place in South Africa
South Africa will be hosting the ICB2019 conference from August 18-21, 2019 in Johannesburg. It will again offer a scientific and technical programme that provides an opportunity for industry, research, policy and financing stakeholders around the world to gather and share insights into recent R&D activities and new developments in biorefinery technologies.
Biorefinery is considered an industrial model that uses renewable biological resources as raw materials to produce green energy and chemical products, while reducing the consumption of fossil resources,.In addition, biorefinery promises to be the best approach for a paradigm shift from “the fossilfuel economy” to circular economy. South Africa is the world’sthird most biologically diverse country, and home to unique vegetation types. It has made great progress on bioeconomy with special focus on renewable energy, environment and agriculture. ICB2019 thus would highlight the development towards bio-economy with respect to renewable energy and related business, and invites the researchers in the field to share their work at the conference
Organisations hope that the conference provides a platform to meet and exchange ideas, and to reinforce/establish connections and collaborations. Most importantly, to inspire more innovative ideas.
