Employee Development
There are a number of opportunities for industry employees to further their studies and thereby move up in their respective roles and companies.
Pulp and Paper Occupational Programme (PPOP)
This industry-recognised programme is for member employees only and will be phased out soon until the new QCTO qualifications are finalised.
The PPOP caters for full-time employees who want to expand their knowledge base of pulp and paper operations, giving them the theoretical and practical training required by most companies. Current learners under this programme will be able to undergo a Recognition of Prior Learning so that they can continue with their studies under the new QCTO qualifications.
Tutoring Programme
PAMSA’s tutoring programme – which mainly focuses on Mathematics and Physical Science – is aimed at NQF Level 2 to 7 learners at Ekurhuleni and Umfolozi TVET colleges, DUT, UNISA as well as mill employees of our member companies.
Assistance for English Language Communication and Computer Literacy, as well as other pulp and paper relevant subjects, is available on request.
